The General Directorate of State-Owned Companies said in a statement that Mawlawi Ghulam Rahman Kazim, Executive Director of the State-Owned Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company, held talks with senior officials of India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on urban wastewater management, the construction of treatment facilities, and professional capacity building for employees.
According to the directorate, Indian officials briefed the Afghan delegation on urban wastewater systems and management and shared information on several development projects, including India’s AMRUT project.
Officials from India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs pledged to expand cooperation, particularly in constructing wastewater treatment facilities, including pond-based systems, and strengthening the professional and technical capacity of employees of the State-Owned Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company.
Mawlawi Ghulam Rahman Kazim stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, sharing expertise and knowledge, strengthening employees’ professional capacity, and benefiting from India’s experience in the construction and development of wastewater treatment facilities.
