Afghanistan’s state-run power company is set to inaugurate 13 new electricity generation projects using domestic energy sources in the coming months.

Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), announced on Thursday that these projects will be launched within the next one to two months.
“As we continue to expand domestic electricity production and implement major infrastructure projects, we look forward to sharing promising developments with our citizens in the coming weeks,” Omar stated on his X account.

In recent years, Afghanistan has seen increased investment in the energy sector, both domestically and internationally. Dozens of large and small projects have already been completed or are currently under development.
