Speaking at the opening ceremony of the International Traditional Wrestling Festival among seven countries, Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi stated that hosting competitions on such a large scale in Afghanistan proves that the country’s sports sector, alongside other areas, has developed well.

He noted that sports serve as a means of fostering good relations among countries, and in recent times, the achievements of Afghanistan’s sports institutions have been noteworthy.

Mr. Muttaqi expressed hope that Afghanistan’s sporting relations with the world will be further strengthened in the future and that such major events will continue.

He also added that it is hoped the situation in the region will stabilize and that the ceasefire will continue, so that the people of the region can live in peace.
