Kayhan newspaper, which is closely aligned with Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated in an analytical report that a possible war between Iran and the U.S. and Israel is “very near and likely,” warning that such a conflict would have global consequences.
The newspaper once again cited the 12-day war with Israel and international sanctions to justify Iran’s current economic crisis, claiming that internal unity and military strength are the main reasons for the failure of the U.S. and Israel’s efforts against Iran.
Meanwhile, former Israeli Defense Minister and Netanyahu opponent, Avigdor Lieberman, stated that those who believe the conflict with Iran has ended are “mistaken and sending the wrong message to others.”
Lieberman said Iran is currently strengthening its military and defense capabilities and has resumed its nuclear activities. He added that this is why major powers have reactivated the sanctions mechanism against Iran.
He also warned that this time, Iran’s leadership is aiming to surprise Israel with a sudden attack.
