Local sources say that unidentified gunmen attacked police forces of the military regime in the Dara Adam Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to initial reports, two police officers were killed on the spot in the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Pakistani Taliban maintain a strong presence in the area.
