Unknown armed men attacked a local mining company named “National Resources” in the Darigon area, related to Dalbandin, the center of Chaghi district in Balochistan.

Local sources say that nine people were killed in the attack, including a foreign national and two local security guards.

Sources did not disclose the identities of the foreign victims; however, Chinese nationals are largely employed in mining operations in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, sources close to Pakistan’s military authorities stated, without providing details, that the area has been brought under the control of security forces and clearance operations are ongoing.

Attacks on mining companies in Balochistan are mostly carried out by Baloch separatist groups.

They consider Balochistan’s resources to be the rightful property of the Baloch people and claim that the Pakistani authorities are exploiting them unlawfully.
