Baloch separatists have revealed details of their attacks during January, claiming responsibility for 35 strikes that resulted in the deaths of 94 members of Pakistan’s military, intelligence, and other security agencies, while 87 others were injured.
According to the published information, key operations included the attack on the military base in Turbat, the capture of Zehri city, and an attack on a convoy of Pakistani troops in Khuzdar—three of the most significant attacks carried out by the group during the past month.
The group also stated that during various raids in Balochistan’s Kech, Kalat, Kachhi, Nushki, Khuzdar, Duki, Hub, Kohlu, and Mastung areas, they captured 34 individuals from different Pakistani government agencies, seized 34 weapons, and destroyed 38 military and non-military vehicles.
The separatist group also praised its intelligence agency, “Zarab,” acknowledging its crucial role in the conflict. They claimed that Zarab had played an instrumental part in conducting significant intelligence operations against the Pakistani government during the ongoing war.
According to data from the Pakistan Institute for War and Security Information, Baloch separatist attacks increased by 45% in January 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.
It is important to note that Abdullah Khan, the head of the Pakistan Institute for War and Security Information, had previously labeled the Baloch separatist attacks as increasingly dangerous. He noted that Baloch fighters have shifted their strategy from mountain-based attacks to operations in urban areas, turning them into a significant and uncontrollable threat to the Pakistani government.
