According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has summoned Ali Nasimfar, the acting head of Iran’s embassy in London, seeking clarification over a number of allegations concerning Tehran.
In a statement, the UK Foreign Office alleged that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force has been involved in organizing certain attacks across Europe. London said such activities pose a threat to the security of the United Kingdom and its allies.
A spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office said the country would take all necessary measures against threats posed by foreign states and would continue efforts to protect its citizens.
The statement also referred to Britain’s recent actions against the IRGC, including the imposition of new restrictions.
Iran has previously denied any involvement in organizing armed activities on European soil or interfering in the affairs of other countries, describing such allegations as baseless.
