Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had carried out strikes inside Iranian territory in response to Iran’s recent missile attack.
According to a CENTCOM statement, the operation began at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with U.S. forces striking targets inside Iran.
Earlier, Axios reporter Barak Ravid, citing a U.S. official, also reported that U.S. strikes had begun inside Iran. Meanwhile, several unofficial sources said explosions were heard in parts of the country.
There has been no immediate confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding the reported strikes or their impact.
