Chinese state media report that China has condemned the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), once renowned for its reputation, for violating the fundamental principles of espionage in its recruitment of foreign nationals.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, China’s Ministry of State Security said the CIA is consistently engaging in acts of intelligence theft, infiltration, and sabotage in an attempt to undermine and contain Beijing.

The ministry added, “Recently, the CIA released Chinese-language recruitment videos on social media, openly encouraging Chinese citizens to take part in espionage activities. This clearly reveals the baseless logic and anxious state of U.S. intelligence agencies.”

China further stated that in recent years, with strong public backing, its national security authorities have delivered severe blows to the CIA’s intelligence network.
