The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Acting Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the source, Minister Muttaqi noted the challenges faced by Afghan traders and described China as one of Afghanistan’s important economic partners. He expressed hope that the volume of trade between the two countries would increase significantly in the near future.
Minister Muttaqi also assured of preventing any issues along Afghanistan’s borders with neighboring countries. He presented practical proposals related to restoring banking relations and balancing trade.
The source further stated that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged to continue political and economic support for Afghanistan. He committed to working toward removing obstacles affecting the export of agricultural products and other Afghan goods.
Wang Yi assured that, as a good neighbor, China would not withhold any cooperation necessary for Afghanistan’s economic development.
