Fox News, citing a U.S. official reported that American forces carried out strikes against Iranian vessels that were attempting to break a naval blockade imposed by the United States.
Iranian sources, meanwhile, claim that Iranian armed forces have successfully foiled an attempt by U.S. forces to target an Iranian vessel.
No official information has yet been released regarding casualties or any material damages.
It is also reported that similar clashes between U.S. and Iranian forces took pla in the Strait of Hormuz during the previous night.
