Outside of Afghanistan, a group of former officials from the fallen republic who worked against the current caretaker government in Afghanistan are trying to hide their past dark and infamous deeds, deceive the public, present themselves as the closest sympathizers, and thus attempt to gain popularity among the people. They think that people’s mentality has changed in the past nearly four years and that they have forgotten the crimes and atrocities they committed.
Among them is Halim Fidae, who served as the governor of Khost, Maidan Wardak, and Logar provinces during the republic. He occasionally takes such stances and attempts to cover up all the crimes and atrocities he committed against ordinary Afghans in these provinces, in collaboration with American and other foreign forces. During his tenure, hundreds and even thousands of innocent Afghans in these provinces were killed in night operations, raids, air strikes, and artillery attacks by American and domestic troops, hundreds of homes were destroyed, and thousands of innocent 0people were subjected to brutal torture in notorious prisons like Bagram and Pul-e-Charkhi.
Now, Fidae is still trying to hide his dark deeds and portray himself as a sympathizer and beloved of the people, which is why he brings up such discussions. During his rule, he was directly and indirectly involved in the killing, torture, and persecution of thousands of innocent Afghans, and he would seek to justify such crimes in exchange for the continuation of his rule. He wasn’t just Fidae, but Fidaee could be an example. There were hundreds, even thousands, of other officials whose hands were stained with the blood of innocent people, who built tall mansions and minarets with their blood, and who silenced the voice of every freedom-loving Afghan under the banner of occupation.
The same officials whose nests were destroyed and whose false thrones of power were overturned with the fall of the republic fled the country and are still running around there every day to restart the war in Afghanistan and spread unrest, encouraging people to fight and wanting to once again cause streams of blood to flow here. However, this time, they are facing such hatred and contempt from Afghans that even their good words are perceived badly by the people. They are now giving explanations about themselves and their crimes and trying to change their dark and infamous deeds in people’s minds and in the pages of history.
People and history will never forget or forgive any crime or cruelty committed by the individuals, groups, and parties of tyrants, savages, and criminals. People now know that these individuals and officials have multiple faces and personas, and what their true face and appearance were/are like. Afghans will never again trust such criminal, corrupt, and historically backward figures, nor will they entrust their own and their country’s fate to them. Considering the current hatred and disgust of the people toward these officials, they might not even allow their dead to be buried on this land, as they have betrayed this land so much that they have not left enough space for themselves for a grave.
