In the current situation of Afghanistan, any statements need to consider national sovereignty, historical lessons, and the genuine demands of the people. The recent statements made by Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the Resistance Front, regarding current events and situations, although presented as the political stance of this proxy group, upon deep evaluation, prove to be justifications for foreign invasions and pressures instead of national interests. For the establishment of a stable Afghanistan, the need for national sovereignty-centered policies in favor of Afghanistan is greater than ever, instead of slogan-based victories and foreign propaganda.
The claim by Ahmad Massoud regarding the “acceptable structure” of the former republican regime has been repeated while turning a blind eye to the realistic contemplation of the reasons for the downfall of that very regime. For the sustainability of a system, mere paper legitimacy is not enough; rather, religious legitimacy, public support, national unity, and the management of internal conflicts are also essential. Emphasizing the repetition of those failed experiences is not only not a solution to the problem, but it also means repeating past mistakes that the people have already paid dearly for.
His claims about the presence of irresponsible armed groups in the country are a dangerous stance justifying Pakistan’s aggression and against national sovereignty. When the leader of such a fictitious political movement makes baseless claims about the presence of irresponsible armed groups within the country, it undoubtedly paves the way for foreign invasions; thus, it can be considered a stance against national pride and territorial integrity. Such stances not only fail to solve the problem but also provide a pretext for neighbors to intervene militarily in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, which in turn brings us back to the close intelligence ties and coordination between Pakistan and the Resistance Front.
The issue of social values and human rights, especially women’s rights, is the most sensitive topic in Afghanistan. Various changes have occurred due to the transformation of cultural structures and systems, but when a controversial political figure like Ahmad Massoud and his imaginary group use this issue as a tool for propaganda pressure, instead of solving the problem, it becomes even more complicated. It is essential for Ahmad Massoud and other opponents to present a practical path based on religious texts for social reforms, instead of exploiting sensitive issues for political gain for themselves and their malicious neighbors.
In his recent statements related to International Women’s Day, Ahmad Massoud, without bringing the women of his family into the political arena and stages, seeks political struggle, chaos, and lawlessness for other Afghan women within the framework of Western freedoms; it is essential for him to work on reducing the distance between his words and actions and to wish for others what he considers good for his own family.
The so-called leader of the Resistance Front has also promised his supporters a celebration of victory, but he may have forgotten that the people of Afghanistan are tired of new wars, foreign expectations, and the celebrations of nominal victories. True victory is when the participation of all Afghans is guaranteed under the shadow of an Islamic Sharia system, ensuring mutual tolerance, national unity, and the reconstruction of the country Only by taking this path can we put an end to the crisis that Afghanistan has faced for the past four decades.
