Speaking at the inauguration of the first phase of the Shorandam Cement Factory in Kandahar, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar said the government is committed to transforming Afghanistan into a production-oriented economy, meeting domestic needs through local products, strengthening value chains, and expanding exports.
He said the government’s goal and responsibility is to establish a productive economic system grounded in sound economic principles that generates tangible value and contributes to the country’s development.
Mullah Baradar urged the management of the Shorandam Cement Factory to ensure that all operations meet recognized standards and maintain the highest quality.
The factory’s first phase has a daily production capacity of 1,500 tonnes of cement and has created thousands of jobs, both directly and indirectly.
It’s worth noting that work on the factory’s second phase is also expected to begin in the near future.
