The Deputy Spokesperson of the Interim Government, Mawlawi Hamadullah Fitrat, has announced that 410 check dams and four major water reservoirs were constructed across the country in 1403 solar Hijri year to enhance water management and strengthen the agricultural sector.
Mawlawi Fitrat stated that while drought conditions and a decrease in rainfall and snowfall have lowered water levels in some areas, impacting agricultural yields and livestock, the interim government has worked to mitigate these challenges. Through the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, as well as Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the construction of 410 check dams and four major water reservoirs has been completed.
According to reports, several provinces experienced higher rainfall levels compared to previous years, increasing optimism among farmers and herders for improved agricultural productivity.
