Afghanistan faces inherited economic and infrastructural challenges due to the failed management of various governments, particularly in the energy, gas, oil, and manufacturing sectors. Recently, Saudi Arabia’s Delta International Company announced an investment of billions of dollars in Afghanistan’s oil and gas sector, and signed memorandums of understanding, which can be considered a significant economic opportunity for the country. Once again, opponents of the Afghan government have expressed their opposition to such a significant investment on social media, attempting to label it as a conspiracy or looting.

Afghanistan has long faced shortages of energy, gas, electricity, industry, and basic infrastructure. However, whenever an Afghan or foreign investor is willing to invest in the country for the benefit of the nation, the opposition confuses public opinion about them and creates a commotion.

Recently, Mirwais Azizi also signed an agreement with the Afghan government for the construction of energy worth 10 billion and investment in this sector, with the aim of achieving national self-sufficiency in electricity. However, some figures who are opposed to national interests raised old conspiracies against Mirwais Azizi with the announcement of this major investment.

The opponents of the Afghan government, who can actually be called opponents of the Afghan nation, oppose economic projects in Afghanistan, but without offering any alternative for Afghanistan’s economic self-sufficiency, they rely solely on irrational opposition.

If investment is made in infrastructure and other essential sectors in Afghanistan, the direct benefits are that industry will grow, unemployed people will be employed, production units will develop, and overall, the pillars of economic institutions will be strengthened and the real face of Afghanistan’s economy will be formed. However, the indirect benefit is that when job opportunities are provided to people, proxy groups (headed by opponents of the Afghan government) will face a shortage of individuals.

Opponents of the Afghan nation always create obstacles to progress, but if they are sincere in their slogans and claims, their goal should be for Afghanistan to be a developed, economically rich, and independent country, for which they should support such investments, not create doubt and express irrational opposition. However, it is clear that their slogans and claims are contrary to their actions.
