The Ministry of Public Works spokesperson, Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, announced that the economic corridor agreement between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China has been extended to 2025.
The agreement between the four countries was signed during a visit to Uzbekistan by the Deputy Minister of Railways, Mawlawi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada.
The corridor has facilitated the transport of 4,200 containers between Afghanistan and China in 2024 alone, as highlighted in the statement.
The corridor connects China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan with Afghanistan via the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway, enhancing trade and economic cooperation among the four countries and it was established in 2022.
