The Economic Directorate of the Prime Minister’s Office has announced that feasibility studies for the construction of water dams will commence in several provinces during the 1404 solar year.

According to a press release from the Economic Directorate, the Ministry of Water and Energy presented several projects for discussion at the latest periodic meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Ghani Baradar.

These projects included the feasibility studies for the Gurumbi Dam in Maidan Wardak, the Qarateeri Dam in Balkh, the Shna Nari Dam in Kandahar, and the Wach Nari Dam in Paktia. After thorough evaluation, it was decided to include these projects in the budget for the 1404 fiscal year.

The meeting also addressed other important issues, such as the construction of the Kandahar Bypass Road, the Arghistan Dam, the extension of a 90-kilometer electricity transmission line from Kabul to Jalalabad, and the completion of the Sheikh Misri Substation in Jalalabad.

It is important to note that since the return of the interim government, hundreds of projects have been launched across the country to ensure balanced development.
