European Union Calls U.S. Attacks on Iran’s Civilian Infrastructure Illegal

International media reported that European Council President Antonio Costa sharply condemned the recent U.S. strikes on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, calling the actions illegal under international laws.

He noted that after five weeks of conflict in the Middle East, it is evident that only a diplomatic approach can resolve the underlying causes of the hostilities.

The EU President delivered this warning on Monday, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to strike Iran’s civilian infrastructure if the country fails to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

It’s worth noting that the United States had previously targeted several Iranian civilian facilities before issuing this warning.
