According to international media reports, ambassadors of the European Union member states have reached an agreement to lift economic sanctions imposed on Syria.

The reports indicate that EU member states foreign ministers are expected to formally announce the decision within the next few hours.

It is worth noting that just a couple of days earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump also lifted sanctions on Syria during his visit to the Middle East.
