The Western countries’ interest with the Afghan government in the diplomatic sphere has caused a severe concern among the former officials of the fallen republic in those countries, the leaders of political and ethnic parties, and the opponents residing there, further accelerating their decline, ineffectiveness, and marginalization. After the fall of the Republic, the Afghan government began efforts to achieve significant gains in the diplomatic sphere, among other areas, and to return Afghan representations abroad to Afghans.
As part of these efforts, the Afghan government was able to convince countries in the region to keep their diplomatic missions active in Afghanistan during very difficult and initial times. In addition, these countries quickly handed over Afghan missions, embassies, and consulates to the Afghan side, including Afghan embassies and diplomatic missions in China, Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Qatar. Coinciding with the start of this series, some other Arab and regional countries took similar action, either reopening their embassies in Kabul or handing over Afghan representations in their countries to the Afghan side, with the aim of increasing interaction with Afghanistan.
European and other Western countries refused to do so at the time and largely seemed to have other orders and signals. For this reason, they sometimes echoed the slogans of others, but rapid developments in Afghanistan, political and security stability, and the breaking of Western-imposed isolation forced Western countries to reconsider their stances and, like other countries, choose the way of interaction. Therefore, some of the European countries cautiously came forward to interact with the current Afghan government.
This interaction is now faster than ever and is expanding day by day. Currently, Afghan representations, embassies, and consulates in European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, and some others have either been handed over to the Afghan side or the people stationed there have abandoned joint work and cooperation with the Afghan government and accepted that they will represent the current government there. This series is still ongoing, and it is expected that some other countries will do this collectively in the near future.
The officials of the fallen republic, residing there, along with the leaders of political parties, ethnic and warlords who sought refuge in these countries after the fall of the republic in Afghanistan and occasionally shout cries of war and resistance from there, were deeply affected by these reports. It brought them a high concern, showed them their failure and insignificance before their eyes, and they are now witnessing the moments of isolation and marginalization with their own eyes.
After the fall of the Republic, these individuals conducted extensive negative propaganda and campaigns against Afghanistan and the Afghan government there. Sometimes, they used human rights as an excuse. Sometimes, they portrayed Afghanistan as unsafe. Sometimes, they used ISIS as an excuse, and sometimes, they said one thing and sometimes another. Overall, their effort was to make those countries allies again and reignite the war in Afghanistan, and if that didn’t work, at least bring them back to interacting with the current Afghan government. But now that they see all these efforts have gone down the drain, they are experiencing severe chills of anxiety and instability.
This hollow state, along with the widespread hatred against them of the people of Afghanistan, has severely damaged their market, so now they are left only with social media, where they complain and lament every day. Sometimes, they accuse Western countries of betrayal, and sometimes they accuse Afghans of missing their “favors”(!), and sometimes become so detached from reality that they start giving advice to others.
