Failed Politicians Living Abroad are not Representatives of the Afghan People

The failed politicians of the fallen republic, or those individuals who left Afghanistan on American planes with foreign forces after the fall of the republic, now introduce themselves abroad as representatives of the Afghan people in order to regain their lost status, trust and influence. They mostly try to present themselves as representatives of the people on international stages.

After the fall of the republican system in Afghanistan, a new government emerged with the support of the people, but it has not yet been recognized. However, it is being treated internationally as a recognized system. Former officials and politicians residing abroad still try to present themselves as legitimate representatives of the people and portray an image to the world as if they are the true representatives of the Afghan nation, while they left the country with the foreigners, just like them.

Sometimes, former officials based abroad present themselves as representatives of a significant portion of the Afghan nation (women). They introduce themselves as defenders of women’s rights in Western culture and, to prove this claim, occasionally auction the dignity and honorable Afghan women by money. This is done to portray the caretaker government as oppressive towards women and themselves as victims representing the people. They then exploit this fabricated media uproar for their own benefit.

If the former officials and politicians living abroad actually claim to be part of the republican system, they are fundamentally making a false and deceitful claim based on the principles of their own system, because they are not accepted among the people, they deny Afghan identity and if they were accepted, they would not flee abroad out of fear of the people’s accountability and judgment.

Many of the officials of the fallen republic who ruled over Afghanistan or now claim to represent the people, in essence, denied Afghan identity for decades. In fact, in the final years of the republic, they openly repeated their denial of Afghan identity in protests. Those who deny Afghan identity cannot, under any circumstances, consider themselves representatives of this nation.

The representatives of the people must, alongside many other principles, have the legitimate support of the people. However, the fallen republic and former politicians had truly lost all their support among the people because they had become detested due to their actions. The result of losing this popular support was that the people recognized the realities and joined the ranks of the opponents of the republic.

Now that a new system has been established in Afghanistan with full popular support, former officials, politicians, groups and factions residing abroad can no longer introduce themselves as representatives of the Afghan people on international stages or make statements against this land and nation on behalf of this vast geography. They have been expelled and are no longer accepted as representatives by anyone.
