Mohammad Hanif Haqmal, spokesperson for the Kandahar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, has announced that fifteen cold storage facilities are planned to be constructed in the province with funding from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), at a total cost of $200,000.
According to Haqmal, the facilities are being constructed in Zhari and Khakrez districts to support the preservation of agricultural products. Each unit will have the capacity to store up to 20 metric tons of agricultural products.
