Former Pakistani army officer Adil Raja, referring to the ongoing operations launched by Baloch freedom fighters in Balochistan, wrote that Pakistani military officials are now attempting to link the situation in Balochistan to Afghanistan in order to conceal the incompetence of their chief, Asim Munir, whom he mockingly referred to as “Asim the Mechanic.” He said the military would claim that the attackers are in continuous contact with Afghanistan.
Raja questioned whether, if such evidence genuinely exists, should it be shared with Afghanistan’s security authorities or merely promoted through social media propaganda.
He further stated that the leader of the Baloch freedom fighters, Bashir Zeb, is based in Balochistan, and that the Pakistani military, as it routinely does, is deflecting responsibility for its failures by blaming Afghanistan and misleading public opinion.
Raja added that similar allegations were made following the previous attack on the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan, noting, “according to my information, the main planners of that attack were also based inside Pakistan.”
