The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced that the Sheberghan-Mazar gas pipeline project has reached its final phase.

According to the ministry, this project, considered one of its key initiatives, is nearing the completion of its construction work, with final technical tests currently underway.

A spokesperson for the ministry stated that once completed, the project will provide natural gas to fertilizer and glass manufacturing factories in Balkh, as well as to the residents of Mazar-e-Sharif.

The ministry further stated that the 94.5-kilometer pipeline was 50% complete before the interim government assumed power.
