Hamas has called on Palestinians to challenge the restrictions imposed by the Zionist regime in Jerusalem and gather in large numbers to perform prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid urged Palestinians to disregard the regime’s limitations during the holy month of Ramadan and increase their presence at Al-Aqsa. He stated, “We must not be deterred by the Zionist regime’s restrictions. Instead, we should intensify our visits and prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, fulfilling our religious and historical duty to this sacred site.”
Shadid further emphasized that it is the responsibility of all Palestinians living near Al-Aqsa to keep the mosque’s courtyards filled with worshippers throughout Ramadan and remain prepared to defend it.
The Hamas statement also asserted that the Zionist regime of Israel will not succeed in its attempts to take control of Jerusalem. Instead, such efforts only strengthen the determination of Muslims to protect Al-Aqsa.
This call comes as thousands of Palestinians gathered at the mosque last night to perform Taraweeh prayers.
