Arab media have reported that around 300,000 people in Sudan’s South Kordofan state are facing severe hunger due to a shortage of food supplies.

The report adds that due to a prolonged siege, humanitarian aid has not reached the region, worsening the humanitarian crisis.

Local journalists say that children, women, and the elderly are the most affected by the hunger.

It is worth noting that Sudan is currently witnessing ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and government troops.

The RSF, backed by the United Arab Emirates, is reportedly trying to gain control over Sudan’s mineral resources.
