The Ministry of Water and Energy has launched two major electricity projects in Kabul, including a new 189-megawatt substation in the Butkhak area of Bagrami district and a 220-kilovolt power transmission line from Arghandi to Butkhak.

According to a press release from the Ministry, these projects are being implemented by the companies “G.S.P,” “M.B.R.C.C,” and “Novinsimia,” with an investment of nearly $25.5 million USD from the A’wfi Bahram company.

Upon completion, these projects will significantly alleviate electricity shortages for Kabul’s residents. By connecting to Turkmenistan’s 500-kilovolt transmission line, the new infrastructure will provide a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers.
