India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish, has criticized Pakistan’s recent policies toward Afghanistan, saying Islamabad is creating obstacles to Afghan trade and transit.

Speaking at a UN meeting, Harish objected to Pakistan’s restrictions on Afghanistan’s trade and transit, saying such measures are contrary to international principles.

India said obstructing Afghanistan’s trade amounts to a form of terrorism and violates UN declarations concerning landlocked developing countries, World Trade Organization principles, and the UN Charter.

It’s worth noting that Afghan government has also halted trade with Pakistan following unnecessary obstacles imposed by Islamabad on Afghan trade.
