In a statement, the Interim Government has declared the 26th of Dalwa a proud day in Afghanistan’s history, marking the defeat of the Soviet invasion. The government extended congratulations to the people of Afghanistan on this occasion.

The statement praised and acknowledged the unparalleled resistance of the Afghan people during the occupation, adding that “the successful jihad against more than a century of continuous invasions should serve as a lesson for future aggressors, ensuring they do not take steps against our independence and liberty again.”

The Interim Government also urged the people of Afghanistan to remain vigilant, just as they were in the past, and to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and independence by standing united against any future conspiracies and schemes.
