Afghanistan’s Interior Minister, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, held talks with Yerkin Tokumov, the special envoy of Kazakhstan’s president.

Ministry of Interior reported that Tokumov expressed support for expanding bilateral trade, deepening broader cooperation, and moving forward with major economic projects, including the railway.

Mr. Tokumov also reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to continued cooperation on border security, counter-narcotics efforts, and the construction of a railway line via Turkmenistan.

Haqqani expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its ongoing cooperation with Afghanistan and commended the strong, constructive relationship between the two countries.

He stressed that Afghanistan is steadily progressing toward stability, growing trade, and overall development, and expressed hope that Kazakhstan will continue its support and regional cooperation.
