Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani says commemorating Independence Day is not enough. The government must also safeguard Afghanistan’s freedom and independence, ensure security, strengthen the economy, and improve people’s living conditions.
Minister Haqqani says the government’s responsibility goes beyond maintaining security. It must respond to people’s needs, provide essential services and facilities, and support sustainable economic growth.
He stressed that creating jobs for young people and reducing unemployment are among the government’s key responsibilities.
Minister Haqqani added that, while protecting the country’s freedom and independence, the government must also create conditions for Afghanistan to become economically self-reliant and ensure that people have access to the facilities they need to meet their basic needs.
