Iran Claims Downing of Two American F-35 Aircraft in the Past 12 Hours

Tasnim News Agency, citing Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has claimed that over the past 12 hours, two advanced American F-35 fighter jets were targeted and shot down within Iran’s airspace.

Sources stated that the aircraft were struck by the IRGC’s “new air defense system,” causing powerful explosions upon impact, and that the likelihood of the pilots surviving is very low.

It is worth noting that Tasnim News Agency has also published images of some debris from the downed aircraft.

So far, the United States and Israel have not issued any official response to Iran’s claim.

It’s worth noting that Iran had previously made a similar claim about downing such an aircraft, but at that time, CENTCOM stated that a U.S. aircraft had only made an emergency landing due to a technical issue.
