According to the Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that two oil tankers exploded and became disabled while transiting the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, which is insecure.
According to the IRGC’s public relations statement, the tankers were attempting to pass through unsafe route of the Strait of Hormuz at the encouragement of the U.S. military. The statement added that as long as the U.S. military presence and activities continue in the region, this route through the Strait of Hormuz will not be safe for oil, gas, and other cargo vessels.
The IRGC also accused the United States of unlawful interference in regional affairs and warned that it would respond appropriately to any violations.
