Islamabad Meeting and Its Clear Outcomes

Pakistan is one of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, and its relations with Afghanistan have always been strained. Although Pakistan has always tried to maintain its ties with Afghanistan and outwardly engage in law-abiding and diplomatic interactions, the passage of time has revealed the truth: these ties were not based on good intentions and the creation of a peaceful, civilized environment built on the foundations of neighborliness, but rather on the establishment of subtle and hidden power bases within Afghanistan’s geography. The revelation of this malicious intent has strained relations between the two countries, and the muddy waters of their interactions have not yet cleared.

In the meantime, the Afghan government has always extended a hand of respectful neighborliness towards Pakistan, seeking friendly relations, good interactions, and mutually beneficial trade. However, Pakistan has played a dual role, always hiding behind covert conspiracies implemented against Afghanistan, endangering its security.

Recently, with the change of government in Afghanistan, Pakistan has become more emboldened than ever and has begun to cast baseless accusations on Afghanistan’s clean reputation. Conducting airstrikes and sabotage operations on Afghanistan’s borders, and the martyrdom of civilians in residential areas in border regions, is one of hundreds of conspiracies and tricks that Pakistan has consistently carried out against Afghanistan, and in the process, has committed countless crimes.

Now, with the invitation of opponents of the current Afghan government, under the pretext of holding a meeting titled “Towards Unity and Confidence Building” and under the auspices of the South Asia Institute for Stability and Strategy, but with the disgraceful management of the ISI, this tension-inducing truth has become more apparent and created a more tense atmosphere.

Looking Pakistan’s turbulent situation and the crisis of its policies, the confrontation between the nation and the government, and the struggle over the type of government and the ruling apparatus in Pakistan, wasn’t it time to exacerbate the already fragile relations and tense interactions between the two countries more than what had already happened, and for Pakistan to once again show its ugly face to the world and the international community with the putrid and polluted stench of the ISI?

This meeting was suspicious and full of doubt that even some opponents of the Afghan government refused to participate. They didn’t take their internal conflicts and disagreements to their neighbors. Instead, they exposed its biased nature and openly stated its ominous and hidden truths.

Over the past few decades, the people of Afghanistan have suffered as much from occupiers and colonizers as they have from the bad neighborliness of Pakistan, enduring more than that, the pain of being neighbors and hearing harsh words. Although Pakistan is an Islamic country and enforces Sharia law, it has been no less than Afghanistan’s enemies and opponents in the realm of attacks, raids, slander, and defamation against Afghanistan, and it does not and will not hold back.

For this reason, this meeting will only result in increased tension between the two countries and a worsening of the political situation, as Pakistan seeks to exploit participants of Afghan nationality against Afghanistan and incite them against the country’s national interests.

Also, using grand names and attractive titles like “Building Trust” and “Towards Unity” has been nothing more than a cover to deceive the Afghan nation, and it still is. However, fortunately, the people will not be deceived this time and will not fall into this trap.

Just as Afghan opponents had already understood the hidden goals of this meeting and some chose not to participate, while others attended for various reasons, the awakened people of Afghanistan will no longer be bitten by this hole and will not reach out to it for treatment.

The surprising thing is why Pakistan, instead of addressing its internal problems and resolving the existing divisions within its society, is trying to shift its problems onto Afghanistan and is constantly taking actions that are shameful and disgraceful to achieve this. This is like a person forgetting their own flaws but shouting about the flaws of others.
