Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for Samangan’s Police Headquarters, reported that security forces uncovered a large weapons and ammunition cache during a series of special operations in the Dara-e-Souf Bala district.
According to Rahmani, the operation took place last night, conducted by the Dara-e-Souf Bala Police Command. The confiscated weapons and ammunition include one DShK machine gun, two crates of mortar shells, 18 mortar rounds, 38 crates of M-40 and M-41 ammunition, 54 crates of DShK and PK machine gun rounds, one crate of hand grenades, 21 mortar plates, and one radio transmitter.
Rahmani added that, based on accurate intelligence, the weapons and munitions were discovered and seized from the home of a soldier from the fallen republic. One individual has been arrested in connection with the discovery.
