    The Lashkar-e-Islam movement, which opposes the Pakistani government, issued a statement claiming that its snipers attacked the military using a laser rifle, resulting in the killing of one Pakistani soldier.

    Reports indicate that the Lashkar-e-Islam fighters are active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regularly launching attacks on Pakistani security forces.
