The Kandahar Municipality announced the commencement of a major infrastructure project, valued at 1.4 billion Afghanis, as part of its ongoing development and expansion initiatives.

According to sources, the project will fully reconstruct and widen the road from Dand Square to Bagh Pul, with completion expected within 18 months.

The road will be upgraded to modern standards, stretching 9.5 kilometers and 60 meters wide, ensuring a high-quality and durable infrastructure.

The municipality stressed that this road is a key segment of the Kandahar–Herat highway. Upon completion, it will create a direct and seamless connection between Kandahar city and the western provinces of Afghanistan.
