Russian Arabic-language broadcaster RT Arabic has reported that Mali and Algeria have restored diplomatic relations after a 15-month break, exchanged ambassadors, and reopened their airspace to one another.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said the decision reflects his longstanding commitment to restoring the two countries’ historic relationship on the basis of mutual respect.
The two country cut diplomatic ties 15 months ago after Mali accused Algeria of supporting armed opposition groups, allegations that prompted Mali to suspend relations with Algeria.
