Sources from Samangan have informed Voice of Hindukush that on Friday, during the Friday prayer at the Joy Zindan Mosque in the center of Samangan province, a man named Ramadan, a resident of Samangan, threw a hand grenade into the mosque due to a personal enmity against some of the worshippers there. As a result, several individuals attending the prayer were injured.
The source confirmed that security forces arrived at the scene promptly. The responsible individual, who was attempting to flee with a rifle, was arrested and is now under investigation.
It is important to note that some media outlets initially reported the incident as an attack by the ISIS group, a claim that is false and has been denied by security authorities.
