The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, announced that Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the development of political and bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Iran, as well as matters concerning Afghan refugees residing in Iran.
According to the statement, President Pezeshkian described the two countries as good neighbors, emphasized the need to provide facilities for Afghan refugees, and stated that Iran is ready to expand its relations with Afghanistan in all areas.
Mawlawi Muttaqi also underscored the positive relations and close cooperation between the two countries. He highlighted the need to increase trade, control narcotics trafficking, and strengthen political ties. He further called for the gradual repatriation of refugees to ensure that their affairs and assets are not harmed.
It is worth noting that Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi is on an official visit to Iran and is scheduled to travel to China from there.
