    Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with his Iranian counterpart, Sayed Abbas Araghchi, in Tehran to discuss bilateral relations, security, water rights, and the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran.

    Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Head of Public Relations at the Ministry of foreign affairs, stated in a press release that during the meeting, Muttaqi emphasized the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties and called for the gradual and dignified return of Afghan migrants, highlighting the need for Iran to consider a phased approach to repatriation.

    According to the report, Araghchi acknowledged the significance of the issues discussed and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation. He expressed Iran’s readiness to work jointly with Afghanistan on matters concerning Afghan nationals residing in Iran, ensuring that any repatriation efforts are conducted in a structured and respectful manner.
