Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Kabul, Takayoshi Kuramaya, highlighted recent diplomatic developments, stating that Afghanistan’s engagements with the region and the world are moving in a positive direction. He emphasized that the interim government, in line with its balanced, non-harmful, and economy-driven policy, is keen to establish dignified relations with all sides.

According to Mr. Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on bilateral relations, Japan’s cooperation, and international matters.

Mawlawi Muttaqi further stated that with the establishment of nationwide security, numerous investment opportunities have emerged in Afghanistan, encouraging Japan to invest in large-scale projects.

Mr. Takal added that the Japanese ambassador commended Afghanistan’s robust efforts in combating narcotics cultivation and production and assured Japan’s commitment to supporting alternative crop initiatives.

Additionally, the ambassador referenced the working groups of the Doha process and expressed hope that cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community would yield positive results.
