Mawlawi Saif‑ul‑Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, stated on his X account that tourists who caused disorder in Nuristan province yesterday were arrested through a coordinated operation by the ministry’s moral enforcers and the provincial police command.

He explained that the arrested individuals entered Nuristan armed and engaged in aerial firing and other disruptive behaviour. He confirmed that they were disarmed at the time of arrest.

Khyber emphasized that Eid is a time for celebration, not for causing distress to others. He reiterated that no one is permitted to disturb the public or engage in unlawful acts.
