The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that, following the ministry’s instructions and the continuous efforts of the Afghan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, around 108 Afghan prisoners were released from prisons on the occasion of the UAE’s National Day.
According to the ministry, a number of the released Afghans have already returned to the country, and the process of returning the remaining individuals will be completed in the near future after the completion of the relevant legal procedures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its appreciation to the government of the United Arab Emirates and the relevant authorities for their cooperation and humanitarian gesture, and assured that it will continue its efforts to follow up on the cases of Afghan prisoners abroad.
