Moral enforcers from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice have prevented the forced marriage of an eight-year-old orphan girl in the Rustaq district of Takhar province.
Ministry’s spokesperson Mawlawi Saif-ul-Islam Khyber stated that the girl’s guardians had intended to marry her off to a man to settle a debt.
