The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and the Hearing of Complaints announced that moral enforcers in Faryab and Laghman provinces, committed to protecting women’s rights, have rescued three women from forced marriages.

According to the ministry, the women were being married off without their consent in exchange for money and harmful traditional practices.

It is stated that the women had also approached the provincial directorates of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice to seek help for their problems.

The ministry emphasized that safeguarding women’s rights is a top priority and assured that no one will be allowed to violate those rights.
