The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, held a meeting in Herat province with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, cabinet members from both Afghanistan and Turkmenistan were also present at the meeting.

Discussions focused on key regional cooperation projects, including TAPI, TAP, railway connectivity, and electricity initiatives between Kabul and Ashgabat.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar stated that the launch of the TAPI project has created a solid foundation for strengthening relations between Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and other regional countries. He added that Saudi Arabia’s Delta International Company has also expressed interest in investing in the project.

At the same time, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Islamic Emirate for providing a favorable environment for the implementation of the TAPI project, stating that construction work is expected to reach the center of Herat province by the end of the current Gregorian year.
