For the first time, local authorities in Nangarhar province have initiated the establishment of fragrant flower farms in six districts: Behsud, Hisarak, Chaparhar, Surkh Rod, Momand Dara, and Lalpura.
According to officials, the “Motia” flower plants are being provided to the farms through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, funded by 1.3 million Afghanis from domestic revenue.
Currently, the initiative is being implemented on a trial basis, however if the results are promising, the cultivation area will be expanded.
It is worth noting that the Motia flower is widely used in the production of perfumes, beauty products, and decorative items, making it a valuable addition to the region’s agricultural and economic growth.
